I made it to Thailand! Got to the school around 2 a.m. Thailand time and went to my apartment. Right now there is one other girl living in the room next to mine. We have one other roommate moving in on Saturday so there will be three of us. The apartment is three levels. The first level is the kitchen and livingroom. The second is our other roommates room and two bathrooms. The top floor is my room and Sarah's room.
Got a few hours of sleep last night but they were a bit restless. Today we are going out to lunch and to a store to buy a few items but other than that we are just hanging out. I don't have internet in my apartment yet but hopefully will get that soon.
Please keep me in your prayers. I am pretty homesick and am finding the adjustment hard. I have the next few days to settle in before orientation, which is nice, but I also need to stay busy so I don't get too sad. I'm thankful that I have a roommate already here so we can hang out together but it's still tough to be in a completely foreign place where I know nobody.
Thanks for your love, support, and prayers.

by the way... posting this has been interesting... everything is in Chinese characters so I'm just guessing where the "post" button is... glad it worked!
Hong Kong!
Hi friends!
I am sitting in the Hong Kong airport before my next (and final!) flight. So far the trip has been good and uneventful.... I flew from Boston to JFK and then flew from JFK to Hong Kong (about a 15 hour flight). On my flight to Hong Kong we flew near the north pole so I looked out the window and got to see the top of the earth!! It was covered in ice, which I think is pretty cool! Landing in Hong Kong was also beautiful... it was just before sunset and the mountains here are huge and gorgeous!
My next flight leaves in about 1 1/2 hours although it looks like it might be a little delayed. Looking forward to getting to Thailand and settling in (and going to sleep again... I think this whole lose a day and go to sleep 6 hours after waking up will be just fine with me :).
Hope you're all doing well! Thanks for your prayers :)

10 Days!!
Well, in 10 days I will boarding an airplane to fly to the other side of the world, to what will be my new home for the next 10 months. I'm not sure it's quite sunk in yet (maybe it will next Tuesday when I see Boston disappearing from the airplane window). These days I'm packing, making sure I have everything I need, lesson planning, and meeting with tons of art teachers to get ideas. I've also seen a lot of doctors in the past couple of weeks getting shots, checkups, and root canals! So fun! And of course, I'm spending time with friends and family. Round two of goodbyes begins! But overall, things are going really well and I'm looking forward to all that's to come!
